The 50 state quarter program was completed in 2008; it began in 1999 and ran for 10 years. The 50 state quarter program commemorates each of Americas 50 states. What made this program so cool was; the ten year program introduced the quarters in the order that they ratified the United States Constitution and joined the Union. Today all 50 of the quarters are in circulation with P & D mint marks. You can find a number of reference books on these quarters, a number of them have become very valuable over the years.

Online you will find many websites that auction off rare uncirculated coins. There are many stores online that provide coins both circulated and uncirculated with the buy it now prices. They also provide coin supplies like boxes, holders, albums, magnifiers and folders. Books filled with reference information on the area of your interest. Most all online sources have return policy in case the quality is not what you expected. If they don’t have a good return policy find another site that does to do business with.

Coin shops and dealers can be found in many towns and cities in the United States. They provide coins and resource material.
Coin Shows
Coin shows you will find in the bigger cities held at the country fair grounds or auditoriums. At coin shows there will be hundreds of dealers to shop from. You can sometimes get better show prices than at their stores. This is a big advantage for the collector in many ways. One being you get a much bigger selection to choose from.
Coin Auctions
Coin auctions you will find both online and live. This may be your cup of tea buying at an auction can be a lot of fun. The trick is to decide up front what your top price is in advance of the action and just stick to it. If the bid goes over your price just let it go. If you follow this plan it will always work for you. You will find the rarest coins that cost the most being auctioned off from the high profile auction houses. Even the online auctions you will find very rare expensive coins also.
